With eight schools in five countries educating nearly 6,000 students, Grand Pacific Resorts is honored to be involved with Christel House, a non-profit organization that provides children living in impoverished communities around the world with educational opportunities. We have helped support Christel House for over two decades through a variety of initiatives ranging from hosting golf tournament fundraisers, to providing internship opportunities, to participating in walk-a-thons. Nothing makes us happier than seeing young students thrive in a safe and nurturing educational environment that allows them to pursue their dreams.
We have long supported Flor who has been with Christel House Mexico since she was in first grade, having overcome incredible challenges early on in her life. Raised by her grandmother since birth, she and her grandma share a one-bedroom home with her uncle. She’s now in high school and is looked at as an ambassador at Christel House thanks to her welcoming attitude and bond with her classmates. Flor said she is grateful to be growing up with Christel House and not only loves her teachers and how they inspire her to learn, but also loves the facility, including the garden, the labs, and the art classroom. One of Flor’s favorite subjects is math, and she also enjoys her after-school dance class. In the future, she can envision working in the tourism or restaurant industry as she travels around the world sharing her food and culture with different countries.
Year after year, we’ve helped students like Flor along with hundreds of others at Christel House Mexico by providing them with access to quality education, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars to cover educational and living costs. We were able to raise enough money to purchase laptops for every high school student at Christel House Mexico as well as cover the cost of Wi-Fi for six months during distance learning. In addition to our sponsored initiatives, we also stock all of our resort units with Christel House Coffee, a fundraising program for the organization. We look forward to watching more students thrive and also continuing to support this worthy cause in every way possible.
