CARLSBAD, CA (June 16, 2015) – Grand Pacific Resorts (GPR), a timeshare management company that prides itself on “Enriching Lives by Creating Experiences Worth Sharing,” hosted The RCI Christel House Open on Monday, June 8 at Shadowridge Country Club in Vista, California. The company has been an avid Christel House supporter since 1998, raising nearly $300,000 over the past 13 years.

The 13th Annual International Charity Golf Tournament takes place at various locations spanning three continents.  Over 1,500 golfers participated at 12 courses worldwide, of which Shadowridge is the sole West Coast location. In addition to Shadowridge Country Club, tournament sites are also located in Branson, MO, Boonville, NY, Daytona, FL, Breckenridge, CO, United Kingdom, Indianapolis, IN, Kissimmee, FL, Myrtle Beach, SC, Palm Beach Gardens, FLO, Scottsdale, AZ and Williamsburg, VA.

Approximately 104 golfers took part in GPR’s Christel House tournament at Shadowridge.  This year’s event raised $44,000. In addition to Grand Pacific Resorts, other sponsors included ResorTime.com, Berg Electric, Welk Group and Crossman Landscape.  There were prizes galore donated for both a raffle and a silent auction in conjunction with the tournament.  Grand Pacific Exchange (GPX), the internal exchange division of GPR, contributed a week anywhere in its timeshare network of resorts; a local jeweler Famulare put up a Citizen Eco Watch; Grand Pacific Palisades Resorts also contributed accommodations for a family of four, along with tickets to nearby LEGOLAND and Breckenridge Grand Vacations offered up a week’s stay at one of its four resorts in Colorado.

According to GPR’s Sharrie McIntosh, who has organized this tournament since GPR began its sponsorship said “The Christel House tournament raises funds that transform the lives of more than 3,800 children around the world, by breaking the cycle of poverty, empowering them to realize their hopes and dreams and become self-sufficient contributing members of society.  Christel House supports learning centers and outreach programs in India, Mexico, South Africa, Serbia, Venezuela and the United States.

“We couldn’t have possibly done this without the support of our sponsors,” continue Sharrie.  “We are grateful to have them aboard to show their support for this important cause.”

“No child deserves to live in poverty,” said David Brown, co-president of the Carlsbad-based Grand Pacific Resorts. “The Christel House Open International Charity Golf Tournament is one way we contribute to this excellent organization which is committed to break the cycle of poverty. Each year hundreds of members of the worldwide timeshare community head to the golf course to raise funds to make a difference in the lives of children.  Christel House addresses the root cause of poverty through a holistic human development model and we at Grand Pacific Resorts are proud to help by sponsoring this tournament.”
