Through our continued partnership with Send Me on Vacation, Grand Pacific Resorts is helping breast cancer survivors experience the restorative power of travel, meaningful connections, and new beginnings.

Sometimes, a change of scenery can offer so much more than a simple break from everyday life.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to slow down, try something new, connect with others, and rediscover the simple joys that often take a back seat to our daily responsibilities.

For individuals who have navigated breast cancer, these moments carry special meaning. After facing the physical and emotional challenges of treatment, having time dedicated to personal wellness, new experiences, and heartfelt connections is incredibly valuable.

This October, a group of survivors gathered along the Southern California coast for a week designed around those very experiences.

Hosted at Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort, the retreat was made possible through the warm partnership between Grand Pacific Resorts and Send Me on Vacation, a nonprofit dedicated to providing restorative vacations for breast cancer survivors.

What unfolded was more than a traditional getaway. It was a chance to embrace new experiences, build lasting bonds, and enjoy time away in a welcoming coastal setting.

A Week of Wellness, Creativity, and Connection

With the Pacific Ocean just steps away, Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort offered a welcoming backdrop for a retreat centered on relaxation, reflection, and personal wellness.

The week began with a warm welcome dinner that brought everyone together and set a positive tone. From there, a thoughtfully planned schedule, including a Pillars of Wellness program, a sound bath meditation, and art therapy, gave participants space to slow down, express themselves, and connect with others who shared similar journeys.

Just as meaningful were the quieter moments. Whether exploring the coastal community of Carlsbad, soaking in the ocean air, or enjoying a free afternoon with newfound friends, participants had time to enjoy experiences that can be hard to prioritize in everyday life.

For Send Me On Vacation participants, the retreat offered exactly that: time and space to focus on themselves.

How Donated Vacation Weeks Make a Difference

Behind experiences like the Carlsbad retreat is a community of vacation Owners who understand the true value of time away.

Through Revive & Thrive, a charitable program offered by Grand Pacific Resorts, eligible Owners can donate their vacation weeks to Send Me On Vacation, helping provide restorative travel opportunities for breast cancer survivors.

The generosity behind the program continues to grow beautifully.

In 2026 alone, Grand Pacific Resorts Owners have donated more than 150 vacation weeks, helping make meaningful getaways possible for individuals seeking rest, connection, and renewal.

Each donated week represents more than a place to stay. It creates the possibility of new experiences, supportive friendships, and memories that extend well beyond the vacation itself.

For our Owners, the program provides an opportunity to share something they already value: the chance to step away from everyday routines and spend time enjoying life’s meaningful moments.

For Send Me On Vacation, these contributions help support its mission of providing restorative vacations that encourage personal well-being following breast cancer treatment.

Together, this partnership demonstrates how a simple act of generosity can create life-changing opportunities for others.

A Partnership That Extends Beyond Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Although the October retreat coincided with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the partnership between Grand Pacific Resorts and Send Me On Vacation represents an ongoing commitment to making a difference.

The initiative is part of GPR Cares, our philanthropic program supporting community enrichment, volunteerism, environmental stewardship, and Associate well-being.

Through partnerships with nonprofit organizations and opportunities for our Owners and Associates to give back, GPR Cares brings our commitment to enriching lives into the communities we serve.

The collaboration with Send Me On Vacation reflects that mission in a particularly meaningful way, connecting the generosity of vacation Owners with the dedication of hospitality professionals and a nonprofit focused on supporting breast cancer survivors.

It’s a partnership built on a shared understanding that travel can offer so much more than a new destination. It creates space for reflection, meaningful connections, and experiences that bring joy during important chapters of life.

The Lasting Impact of Sharing the Gift of Vacation

As another Send Me On Vacation retreat comes to a close, its significance extends far beyond the activities that filled the week.

A donated vacation week can become an opportunity to discover a new place, participate in a wellness experience, build a friendship, or simply enjoy a few days without the usual demands of life.

For Grand Pacific Resorts, Send Me On Vacation, and the Owners who help make these experiences possible, that is the heart of our partnership.

It’s a reminder that some of the most meaningful gifts aren’t things at all. They’re opportunities to experience life, connect with others, and create memories worth sharing.

And sometimes, those opportunities begin with something as simple as sharing a vacation.
