The 46th Annual Kaua`i Charity Walk, held on May 3, 2025, once again brought the island together in a heartwarming display of generosity and community spirit. Hanalei Bay Resort (HBR) played a standout role in this year’s event, raising over $72,000. This remarkable achievement not only crowned HBR as the top fundraiser on Kaua`i but also placed the resort nearly $25,000 ahead of the next highest contributor. Thanks to this incredible effort, HBR proudly retained its title as the island’s leading fundraising resort.
This success was truly a team effort, but it was Lillian Watari, Guest Service Manager, whose unwavering passion and leadership inspired the charge. Her dedication rallied colleagues, Owners, guests, and community members to give generously. This year also marked a significant milestone for Lillian—her 10th Golden Slippah Award, recognizing her as Kaua`i’s top individual fundraiser. Her commitment to the cause continues to set a shining example for all.
Organized by the Hawai`i Lodging & Tourism Association (HLTA) Kaua`i Chapter, the Kaua`i Charity Walk is the island’s largest single-day charitable fundraiser. For over 46 years, this event has raised essential funds for local nonprofits—last year alone generating over $620,000 to support more than 60 organizations. Importantly, all funds raised on Kaua`i stay on Kaua`i, directly benefiting the local community.
For more than a decade, Lillian and the HBR team have championed the Kaua`i Charity Walk, embodying a culture of aloha and service that continues to drive impactful giving.
