The parking garage has received a much needed makeover. The demolition of the garage concrete was completed during our maintenance week. Over 300 cubic yards of concrete were removed and replaced. The new concrete is five inches thick and was done over four pours. Between each pour and around the footings on each support beam half inch felt expansion joints were installed. The felt allows the concrete to shift, which helps prevent cracking. During the demo process a new slot drain line from the rear garage culvert to the front parking lot had to be installed in order to ensure proper drainage. The old line had a 90 degree angle in it causing backup. The new line is straight from the garage to the inlet by the main entrance planter, which allows much better flow and less chance of clogging. The ADA parking spots were relocated closer to the elevator. The new concrete looks great!
All of the dining and rocking chairs were professionally reupholstered. They were picked up at the start of the maintenance week by Audie’s Quality Upholstery in Reno. The chairs were reupholstered with top-of-the-line vinyl, which is more durable and easier to clean.
Also, new wind screens in the parking garage were made by a local company, Tahoe Canvas. They were constructed with a more durable fabric with longevity in mind. Zippers were used to attach them, which make it easy to remove in case of repairs. These improvements help build upon our reputation as a first-class resort providing Owners and guests quality accommodations in a highly desirable location.
